Head of the Dental Medicine Department at CHU Sainte-Justine

The Department of Dentistry is seeking a Hospital Department Head to further the clinical and academic development of pediatric dentistry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define the major orientations of the department in collaboration with its members.
• Coordinate the professional activities of specialist dentists.
• Manage dental resources and ensure appropriate distribution of care in collaboration with network partners.
• In co-management, develop rules for the use of human and material resources to promote accessibility and quality of services, and ensure compliance with these rules.
• Promote partnerships between CHUSJ and network sectors.
• Support development projects in collaboration with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) to meet the needs of specific clienteles.
• Foster academic and professional development by encouraging research and pedagogical development through the supervision of interns.

REQUIREMENTS
• Possess or be eligible to obtain a specialist’s certificate in pediatric dentistry issued by the Ordre des dentistes du Québec.
• A minimum of 5 years’ practice in this field and experience in a hospital or university environment.
• Management experience an asset.
• Good knowledge of French.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring interns.

Term: 4 years maximum
