Can new dentists begin to electronically send claims starting on their very first day in the office?

No. Dentists must first register for electronic transmission. Réseau ACDQ transmits the information concerning newly registered dentists to participating insurers twice a week. Then, insurers have a week period to enter the information into their system.

Although the majority of the insurers have automated the update and complete it in just a few days, making it possible to receive transmissions from new dentists on the day after they register, some update information manually, which results in additional delays that can last up to two weeks.
