What is Réseau ACDQ? An Internet link that communicates with the insurers?
The Réseau ACDQ is a free service offered by the Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec to its members. It is essentially a standardized protocol of norms and procedures that defines the terms and conditions for the remote transmission of patient claims to participating insurance companies. These standards must also be respected by the software providers. The ACDQ Network was created in collaboration with dental software vendors, telecommunication network providers and insurers to ensure that the standards are met.
The technology that allows the ACDQ Network to guarantee electronic transmission to insurers is called ACDQ Express. This technology is dedicated to insurer transmission and uses a secure encryption protocol. Enrolment in the Réseau ACDQ Network allows member dentists to be recognized by the computer systems of participating insurers and to transmit dental claims to them. Each dentist must register with the Réseau ACDQ at each of his or her practice locations.
Dental claims submitted electronically can be processed in real time or on a delayed basis.
